Happenings

This past week has been one of ups and downs. I was feeling very down and upset most of last week, I feel bad for Porter who had to put up with me. For those of you who don't know my mom has Alzheimer's and I was extremely angry about it last week, mostly because I get overwhelmed with being a mom and how to handle things and when I would normally call my mom she's not really there to give me the help/advice that I need. None of my sisters have kids yet and so I feel very alone sometimes because I don't have anyone to go to for advice, and yet when my sisters have their own kids they can call me because I've already gone through it. So in a way I feel like a guinea pig. And I know there's so many people who help me (friends and family) and I'm probably just being stubborn but it's not my mom's advice that they always give and that's what I want. I'm getting emotional about it right now again just thinking about it.

Ok onto happier things. We went to the circus and the zoo this past week. Both were really fun and Harrison loved it. I was a little nervous about the circus because Harrison is such a busy body and hates to sit still for a long period of time, but he did really really well (thanks Jaklyn for the idea of going!). And we snuck down to better seats so we ended up having a whole row to ourselves which gave him a little room to move around.

Had to wear both pairs of sunglasses on our way there...he cracks me up!

With my cousin Jaklyn, Harrison's new buddy

Then on Monday our housing community charted a bus for anyone who wanted to go to the zoo so Porter took the afternoon off and came with us. It was so much fun, and hot!! 90 degrees! But I was really impressed because we were only there for a few hours but all the animals seemed really active when we were there.

Harrison loved having his own seat, this gives me hope for the New York trip we're about to take on a bus

Currently more interested in his chips than the elephant

So funny thing is Harrison doesn't like to touch the grass with his hands so this is him trying to get up without touching the grass!

Worn out after the zoo

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. My thoughts are prayers go out to your family, that must be difficult.

Looks like a fun week at the zoo and circus. :)

So in one of Cory's books about a major sports coach (and no, I don't remember who it was... we have too many books to keep track of)... the gentleman says something to the effect of, "Having someone to help you doesn't mean you've failed, it only means you have people who love you". We all love you, and are here for you if you want to talk/vent/ask questions. I am so sorry about your mother. Sometimes the best advice I ever get is from staying close to the Savior and listening for those promptings. It's amazing, but he even cares about the mundane little stuff, but he'll help you. Take a deep breath, remember He loves you, and we love you. You're a good mother! Just keep pluggin' along...You'll do great!
